Noho Ᾱhuru – Healthy Homes is a free service supporting low income families to have warmer and healthier homes.

Our team of experienced Healthy Homes providers bring knowledge from both the health and housing sector to provide a wrap-around service for you and your whānau.


Our Interventions

Advice

We run workshops, have online resources and provide printed material on how we keep can keep our homes warm, dry and healthy, as well as renters’ rights & responsibilities and budgeting

Social Services

The team from Te Puna Manawa HealthWEST are experienced kaiāwhina (social workers) who can support you and your whānau with your needs

Tools

We provide tools to help with making a home warmer, drier and healthier. These include: effective curtains, ventilation, insulation, bedding, heating, draught stoppers and smoke alarms

Minor Repairs

Habitat for Humanity Northern provide Healthy Home Assessments and minor repairs such as fixing broken windows, installing effective curtains or changing window latches

Referral Expectations

Whānau that fit the criteria are eligible for our free Healthy Homes service. Referrals can come from health professionals or whānau can self-refer. We are happy to take calls regarding eligibility.

  • Adult (receiving Bicillin Injections)
